Are you running Facebook Ads yet? Having any success? If you're looking for an edge and willing to take some time before placing your ad, keep on reading my friend. I have spent thousands on Facebook Ads and have discovered a way to enhance my conversions. It all starts with research inside Facebook Audience Insights. Let's get started so that you can take action on what you learn here today. The first place we'll start is right inside Ads Manager.
There are a few options once you click on Audience Insights, but we are going to click out of those and go straight onto the left side of the page and click on 'Interests.'
Interests are going to show us demographics of certain pages. In our example, let's say we make handmade hair bows for children and we want to know if people who are interested in Etsy might be good to target with our ad.
Once we type in Etsy, we can see that there are mostly women between the ages of 25-44 who like Etsy. This age group might be perfect for our hair bows. When we click on the Page Likes tab, we begin to see other pages liked by the people who like Etsy. This gives us even more insight into other pages we can target.
You can type in these pages in the interest area and begin to do even more research so your ads are reaching the right people. If they reach the right people, they will convert into clicks and eventually sales for you. Yay!
If we click on the Activities tab, we can see that people who like Etsy are likely to click on ads. This is good news for us, because they are already in the habit of trusting ads and clicking through to read more. From there, we can click on the Purchase tab and discover that people who like Etsy are likely to purchase clothing, but not as likely to purchase kids products. Hmmmm.
What we can do is test. Testing and research will be the most important part of creating ads that convert for you. We recommend testing a few ad sets, meaning interests. After you find a standout interest, test out different ad copy and images. Facebook is a powerful tool and if you're willing to put in the effort, you will have a winning Facebook Ads strategy.
